The extension stores the following data locally in your browser only:
- Your list of tracked NBA players (player names)
- Player status history (used for detecting check-in/check-out changes)
- Extension settings and preferences (notification settings, polling interval)
This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us or any third parties.
3. How We Use Data
The extension uses your locally stored preferences to:
- Display your tracked players in the extension popup
- Check player status periodically during NBA games (every 45 seconds)
- Send you notifications when tracked players check in or out of games
- Show live statistics and game scores for your tracked players
4. Third-Party Services
The extension fetches publicly available NBA game data from:
- Our API server (hosted on Railway at player-spotter-production.up.railway.app)
- ESPN's public API (accessed via our backend server)
API requests only include:
- Player names you choose to track
- Search queries you enter
No personal information, browsing history, or identifying data is sent.
5. Data Sharing
We do NOT:
- Share your data with third parties
- Sell your data to advertisers or data brokers
- Use your data for advertising or marketing
- Track your browsing activity outside the extension
- Collect analytics, usage statistics, or telemetry
- Require account creation or login

Your data is protected by:
- Local storage only: All user data stored in Chrome's secure storage API
- HTTPS encryption: All API requests use secure HTTPS connections
- No servers: We don't store any user data on our servers

Your tracked player list and preferences remain in your browser until you:
- Manually remove players using the extension
- Clear your browser's extension data
- Uninstall the extension
When you uninstall the extension, all locally stored data is automatically deleted by Chrome.

Our extension does not collect any data from anyone, including children under 13 years of age. We comply with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act).

The extension requests these permissions for the following purposes:
- storage: Save your tracked players list locally in your browser
- notifications: Alert you when tracked players check in or out of games
- alarms: Check player status every 45 seconds in the background
- host_permissions (player-spotter-production.up.railway.app): Fetch live NBA game data from our API
None of these permissions are used to collect personal information.
